Well here is the low down. Mike and I were able to take a week out of life to spend some time on the Oregon coast with my family. We got to spend a day with
my sister Rachel and her family in Seattle before we traveled down to South Beach, OR to meet the rest of my family. We stayed in some yurts for two night and partied on the beach. The kids had a ton of fun in the water, especially my niece Olivia. Some one had to keep a hold on her or else she would follower her siblings into deeper water and get wiped out. The boys had a lot of fun too enabling all beach bums to have a land line right on the ocean. :) They found a wa
shed up telephone pole on the beach, and after already having dug a hole in the sand, proceeded to hoist it up and plant it right there. It was quite an ordeal that involved almost all of us to get it up, but we all had a lot of fun. After the immediate family reunion on the coast, we traveled east and went to the much larger family reunion at a State Park near Salem. Other than sleeping in bunk beds that offered approximately 2 feet of space between the bed and the ceiling, it was pretty great. We tried o
ur hands at the horse shoe tournament, but failed miserable in the first round. It's hard to get enough umph behind the shoe when your muscle mass seems to be decreasing at a significant rate. The trip home was an adventure as we traveled by just about every form of transportation. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!!! Becaus
e Rachel (our ride down there) was going on to California for a bit, we need a way to get back to the Seattle Airport. So we took a bus from Salem to Portland, then a train from there to Olympia. Then the 3 of us (Rob, Mike and I) rode in Rob's tiny truck (and I mean tiny) to the Airport. From there we flew home, took a taxi to our aunt house in SLC and then finally drove our own car the remainder of the 10 hour trip home. The best part was coming home to a clean bath room, consistently hot shower, and a soft bed with head room. Yeah for being home. Love going on vacation, but love sleeping in my own bed.

Thanks for sharing this, and for representing some if us who live in Utah with ya but couldn't make it. The bunkbeds sounded very interesting. BTW- do you know what you're having yet, besides a baby of course? When are you due?
YOU'RE PREGNANT!!! Oh my gosh, how totally fricking exciting! Sheesh, it's like you stop talking to someone for like a year or two and all of the sudden they're pregnant! Hope all is well. preston and I are both dying for a picture of you and your belly! take care.
BTW- do you know what the baby is? And when are you due?
